Łukasz Bartela, PhD, DSc, Silesian University of Technology
Łukasz Bartela, PhD, DSc, works as an associate professor at the Silesian University of Technology. His main area of interest concerns clean energy production and electricity storage technologies. As part of his research work, he focuses on issues related to the development of optimal energy mix. He conducts research in the field of technologies and algorithms concerning energy security.
He is competent in the field of thermodynamic analyses, economic analyzes and energy systems optimization. He participated in large research projects developing hydrogen technologies, supercritical coal blocks, also integrated with CO2 separation systems, and hybrid energy systems.
Since 2019, he has been dealing with Coal-to-Nuclear technology, assessing the possibilities and legitimacy of using the infrastructure of functioning coal and gas units as part of nuclear investments. He is the author or co-author of many scientific monographs, publications in international journals and many patents.
Agnieszka Miśkiewicz, PhD, Instytut Chemii i Techniki Jądrowej
Agnieszka Miśkiewicz, PhD, works at the Center for Radiochemistry and Nuclear Chemistry, at the Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology, where she is the Deputy Head of the Centre. She deals with issues related to the environmental protection, in particular the management of radioactive waste.
Her research works focus on the use of membrane processes in the processing of radioactive waste as well as the treatment of water and industrial wastewater. She led the NCN Sonata 6 project concerning use of radioactive tracers to study membrane processes. She also participated in the implementation of a number of national and international projects in the field of environmental protection and nuclear energy.
She is the author of over 30 peer-reviewed publications, including 20 in journals from the Philadelphia List, and numerous conference speeches; HI=7, 179 citations.
Jakub Tuka, PhD, Energoprojekt Katowice SA
Jakub Tuka is an expert in power system design. He works at Energoprojekt Katowice, extending his previous knowledge and experience gained during his work at the Silesian University of Technology.
His specific field of interest is thermal-flow balancing and optimisation analyses of power systems. Among other things, he has already carried out design work in the past on the retrofitting of coal-fired units – using their infrastructure and subsystems for retrofitting to a gas-steam unit. In addition to his technical expertise, Jakub Tuka is also competent in the area of developing economic viability analyses. He has already carried out research and development work in the past. Their subject matter was the technical and economic optimisation of coal units, gas units or technologies for the intensification of natural gas and oil production.
Rafał Grabarczyk, M.Sc., Energoprojekt Katowice SA
Rafał Grabarczyk, M.Sc., works at Energoprojekt Katowice SA. He has extensive experience both as a power units designer and as a manager. From the beginning of his professional career, he has been involved in the reconstruction and modernization of the Polish power industry.
During his professional career, he has gained competence at all stages of project implementation; from the stage of conceptual/design work, through the implementation of works on the construction site, to the start-up phase. He participated in the largest energy projects implemented in the country, both for coal-fired units and gas-steam units.
