Project DEsire was presented at a meeting organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA): Technical Meeting on Back End of the Fuel Cycle Considerations for Small Modular Reactors. At this meeting PhD Agnieszka Miśkiewicz gave a presentation entitled: “The process of decarbonization of the domestic power industry in Poland using SMR reactors-issues related to spent fuel as one of the parameters determining the choice of technology”.
The meeting took place from September 20 – 23, 2022 in Vienna and was attended by 107 participants from 32 countries and representatives of 3 international organizations. The purpose of the meeting was to share knowledge on issues related to spent fuel from all envisioned SMR technologies, at all stages of the final fuel cycle (e.g., storage, transportation, reprocessing and recycling, and disposal).
