With KHNP about the potential of a Coal-to-Nuclear decarbonization pathway

On Friday, April 7, Professor Lukasz Bartela and Dr. Eng. Pawel Gladysz had the opportunity to represent the DEsire project at a meeting with representatives of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power. In addition to those representing KHNP, the meeting was also attended by representatives of Busan National University, Sejong University and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. The meeting with nuclear power experts from South Korea took place in Prague, with the aim of presenting the assumptions and results developed so far in the first phase of the project. A discussion was also held on the potential of the Coal-to-Nuclear pathway for the decarbonization of energy in various regions of the world. The KHNP representation presented the current status of work and the iSMR reactor development forecast. The meeting was also attended by Staffan Qvist, representing the QuantifiedCarbon group, which works closely with the DEsire Team. The meeting included a discussion of directions for further cooperation.
