The Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice and the Apave Group, in cooperation with the Desire – Energy Transition Platform, have the honor to invite you to a seminar organized as part of scientific-industrial cooperation, which will take place on Thursday the 22nd of May 2025 from 9:00AM at Centre of New Technologies, Silesian University of Technology, Aula B, Konarskiego Street 22 B, Gliwice.
This seminar will explore critical aspects of safety and quality within the nuclear industry and the development of new nuclear power plants. The seminar topics will include:
· current challenges in nuclear supply chain qualification, notably nuclear standards like NQA-1, ISO 19443 and safety culture
· nuclear equipment qualification, IAEA GSR and European nuclear regulations overview
· opportunities for industry-university research and implementation cooperation, particularly for new nuclear build projects
The seminar is aimed at representatives of industry, scientists, engineers and students interested in the development of modern technologies and raising safety standards.
Languages of the seminar will be Polish and English. Participation in the seminar is free of charge, but due to the limited number of places. Detailed agenda to be provided upon confirmed participation.

1. Personal Data Administrator

The administrator has appointed a Data Protection Officer who may be contacted in all matters concerning the processing of personal data post to the address: ul. Akademicka 2A, 44-100 Gliwice or by e-mail: iod@polsl.pl
3. Purposes of processing
The administrator processes personal data for the purpose of registering participation in Seminar, communicating with participants in order to organize Seminar, and if you consent to receiving information about conferences and events with a scientific profile or promoting science organized by the Silesian University of Technology – also for the purpose of sending such information in the future.
4. Legal basis for processing
Processing is based on the grounds arising from Article 6 section (1) let. (e). (performance of a task carried out in the public interest) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) and the provisions of the Act of 20 July 2018 Law on Higher Education and Science – regarding personal data contained in the application form, and in the case of the image and sending information about events organized by the University Article 6 section (1) letter (a) – consent of the data subject.
5. Withdrawal of consent
Consent may be withdrawn at any time by sending an e-mail request to the following address: projekt@projektdesire.pl, which does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out before its withdrawal.
6. Personal data storage period
Personal data will be stored for the period resulting from the uniform material list of files developed on the basis of the Act of July 14, 1983 on the national archival resources and archives.
In the case of personal data processed on the basis of consent, personal data will be processed until the consent is withdrawn.
7. Data recipients
Entities performing public tasks. Personal data may also be transferred to partners providing technical and organizational IT support.
Personal data in the form of an image will be made available on the University’s website and social media.
8. Rights related to the processing of personal data
You have the following rights related to the processing of personal data:
1) the right to access personal data;
2) the right to request the rectification of incorrect personal data and the completion of incomplete personal data;
3) the right to request the erasure of your personal data, should the circumstances defined in Article 17 of the GDPR arise;
4) the right to request restriction of the processing of personal data;
5) the right to transfer data if the processing is carried out in an automated manner – in the case of data processed on the basis of consent;
6) the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority responsible for the protection of personal data, i.e. the President of the Personal Data Protection Office;
7) the right to object to data processing.
9. Information about automated processing of personal data
Personal data will not be subject to automated decision-making, including profiling.
In addition, we would like to inform you that in order to document Semiar, photographs and videos may be taken during the procedure, which may be published on websites and in publications belonging to the Silesian University of Technology and the following portals:
