The main hall of the AGH University of Kraków hosted the conference titled “Energy Security – Nuclear, Hydrogen, Gas”, focusing on pivotal aspects of Poland’s energy transition.
The discussions covered a wide range of pressing issues, including:
🔸 the future of Poland’s only operational nuclear reactor “Maria”,
🔸 the anticipated role of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) in electricity and district heating,
🔸 the government’s roadmap for SMR development,
🔸 criteria for selecting locations for nuclear investments,
🔸 and key arguments supporting the Coal-to-Nuclear transformation pathway.
The conference was officially opened by Prof. Jerzy Lis, Rector of AGH University of Kraków. The keynote address, offering insights into EU energy policy and its implications for Poland’s national energy mix, was delivered by Wojciech Wrochna LL.M., Government Plenipotentiary for Strategic Energy Infrastructure and State Secretary at the Ministry of Industry.
