On Friday, September 26th 2025, we had the great pleasure of organizing the last of the planned meetings with the stakeholders of the DEsire project. The closing conference of the project was attended by almost 80 people, representing national energy groups, technology suppliers, design offices, universities, research institutes, local government organizations and news media. The meeting was attended by representatives of the consortium implementing the project, which includes: Silesian University of Technology, Ministry of Energy, Energoprojekt Katowice, Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology and Sobieski Institute.
During the conference, two papers were presented on the effects of the DEsire project (Łukasz Bartela and Andrzej Sidło) and the Coal-to-Nuclear transformation strategies that are currently being developed and implemented in the world (Paweł Gładysz). During the event, we organized two discussion panels. The first discussion panel became an excellent opportunity to discuss national activities and challenges on the Coal-to-Nuclear path. The second panel was devoted to the formulation of expectations towards the SMR Roadmap prepared by the Ministry of Energy. We would like to thank all the participants of the discussion (panel no. I: Marzena Czarnecka, Paweł Gajda, Jacek Janas, Tomasz Jankowiak, Tomasz R. Nowacki, and panel no. II: Rafał Browarski, Marcin Ciepliński, Julia Ćwiek, Dorota Pająk, Mirosław Syta, Maciej Lipka ) for participating in the event and thus bringing great substantive value to it.
Despite the fact that the DEsire project is coming to an end, we are deeply convinced that the good energy that accompanied its implementation will transform into a number of follow-up activities, which we encourage and in which we, as PTE DEsire, want to take part as well!
We would like to thank the entire community of stakeholders for their attention and a lot of feedback, which contributed to the effective implementation of the tasks envisaged in the project. We will keep you informed about the effects of our implementation activities.
