Coal-to-Nuclear technologies were mentioned in the newest Polish Nuclear Energy Programme (PPEJ).
In Poland, analyses of the Coal-to-Nuclear concept have been carried out for many years. Now everything indicates that we will officially join the group of countries that want to redefine the future of post-coal regions thanks to nuclear technologies.
We are very pleased to note that the draft update of the Polish Nuclear Energy Programme (PPEJ) published by Ministry of Energy includes the concept of Coal-to-Nuclear transformation, referring to the experience of the DEsire project. This is a clear confirmation of the correctness of the direction we have become interested in.
Right now, as the PPEJ consultation process is underway, we encourage open debate and collaboration on implementing solutions that will enable:
🔸 the use of existing infrastructure,
🔸 maintaining jobs,
🔸 strengthening Poland’s energy security,
🔸 and effectively decarbonizing the power system.
