Atom for Local Government conference

On 13th September 2022, the Atom for Local Government conference was held at the Silesian Museum in Katowice. The conference was organized as part of the Metropolitan Energy Days 2022. It was attended by representatives of local governments, scientists, energy specialists and residents of Silesia and Zagłębie interested in energy transformation. 4 papers were presented and 3 discussion panels were held.
The topics discussed concerned the future of nuclear energy in Poland and the opportunities offered by the use of this energy source in energy transformation of coal regions. During the conference, prof. Łukasz Bartela, DSc, PhD – DEsire project manager, delivered a lecture entitled DEsire project: Plan for the national commercial power industry decarbonisation through modernization with the use of nuclear reactors.
