Since 2022, DEsire and the Repower Initiative’s activities related to the Coal-to-Nuclear transition have attracted the attention of important institutions that actually shape the energy policies of the world’s largest economies. This time, we are pleased that the results of our efforts have been recognized in a significant report by the International Atomic Energy Agency.<\/p>\n

The new publication from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), “Coal to Nuclear: Supporting a Clean Energy Transition,” is a practical guide for governments, local decision-makers, financiers, and industry, offering recommendations for implementing a just transition along the Coal-to-Nuclear path. The document was developed in cooperation with the South African Presidency of the G20 and strongly emphasizes the challenges and opportunities facing coal-producing regions.<\/p>\n

This publication outlines the proposed update of the Polish Nuclear Power Program (PNPP) and highlights the potential of locations in coal-producing regions (Be\u0142chat\u00f3w, Konin, Kozienice, Po\u0142aniec) in light of public expectations regarding the direction of the transition. It is essential reading for decision-makers planning a coal phaseout, prioritizing local communities and energy supply security.<\/p>\n
